QUALIFICATIONS

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the basic education and/or specialized experience requirements. Specialized Experience is defined as work in the private or public sector performing duties in or related to the work of the position being filled.
For DR-I: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized Experience is defined as work in the private or public sector performing duties in or related to the work of the position being filled. Examples of specialized experience include understanding of methods and practices in support of development of modeling and simulation capabilities; experience applying quantitative and qualitative analysis and investigative techniques in order to synthesize data, evaluate significant factors, and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of modeling and simulation; experience in applying systems thinking concepts and techniques and quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques.
For DR-II: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DR-I/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized Experience is defined as work in the private or public sector performing duties in or related to the work of the position being filled. Examples of specialized experience include comprehensive knowledge of identifying, formulating, evaluating, and promoting the generation and exchange of new theories, concepts, principles, methods, applications, and practices in support of development of modeling and simulation capabilities; comprehensive knowledge of life cycle management concepts; cost-benefit analysis methods sufficient to evaluate the feasibility of proposed new development projects and the mission, operations and programs of customer organizations; extensive knowledge in applying systems thinking concepts and techniques and quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques; experience representing team to groups outside of supervisory unit and leading informal teams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (The following will be used to help rate and rank eligible candidates.):

  • Skills in utilizing Python language and development environment or multiple other programming languages such as C# and R to develop custom modeling and simulation solutions to analytical problems
  • Ability to collaborate with technical partners to develop strategies and lead project teams for development in support of operations
  • Ability to suggest improvements to existing process or code developed by colleagues or outside organizations
  • Ability to provide information to peers, senior technical leaders, and/or managers within and beyond own organizational unit to recommend solutions
  • Knowledge of building and running AFSIM scenarios and leveraging Agile concepts like Scrum
  • Ability to maintain awareness of emerging technologies and professional developments to stay current in the field and for application to work assignments
  • Ability to support the improvement of existing or development of new analytic methods, models, techniques, and tools to improve analytical products
  • Skill in delivering briefings individually or as part of a multi-disciplinary team to a wide variety of audiences to include peers, senior personnel, external partners, and customers

Responsibilities:

DUTIES

  • Support analytic workflow requirements by design, development, and deployment of modeling and simulation, visualization, and/or automation capabilities
  • Collaborate with data scientists, computer scientists, and analysts in an agile team to develop and integrate modeling and simulation solutions, automated where possible, on classified IT systems in support of analytic requirements
  • Develop scripts or program codes that curate, normalize, clean (to include filling in data gaps), and make securely accessible data for analytic customers which include data scientists, analysts, and engineers
  • Contribute to project plans, including scoping, method evaluation, and development to include modifying exiting methods and approaches to solve analytical challenges
