How you’ll contribute

As one of our Sales & Rental Associates, you’ll be in a key customer facing role coordinating the sale and rent of our in-store Construction Equipment through:

  • Always providing enthusiastic and professional customer service ensuring the resolution of any issues, both in person and over the phone
  • Processing the sale or rent of a variety of equipment, including but not limited to General Tools, Lawn & Garden equipment, Generators, Heaters, Light/Medium Construction equipment, etc.
  • Coordinating equipment delivery/pick up and booking equipment reservations using our Rental Management computer system
  • Possessing excellent knowledge on equipment such as operation, features, related accessories, safe operating techniques and effectively transferring this knowledge to customers
  • Anticipating product demand, tracking availability, and ensuring equipment is “rental ready”
  • Probing customer’s equipment needs and making informed merchandise suggestions while maximizing all up-sell and cross-sell opportunities
  • Maintaining inventory documentation and proper equipment levels to minimize stock outs and lost rentals
  • Accurately entering and completing all work orders and related paperwork with respect to the sale or rent of equipment in order to preserve the integrity of our Rental Management computer system.
  • Participating in store merchandising objectives involving display changes, aisle/stock replenishment, and pricing
  • Assisting customers and store drivers with moving and loading/unloading equipment, and demonstrating its safe operation where required
  • Adhering to and promoting our Company Safety Policies, including wearing all required PPE
  • General housekeeping, and maintaining a tidy and safe store environment
  • Completing other duties as assigned

What we’re looking for

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required
  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience, with a strong preference for experience in equipment rental services, home improvement centers, or similar background
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and effectively able to deal with customers in person and on the phone
  • Working knowledge and understanding of general tools and construction equipment is an asset
  • Able to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • A G Driver’s license with a clean abstract is a bonus
