REQUIREMENTS:
- University and/or college degree in operations management, transportation logistics, or any other relevant field;
- Minimum of 5 years of operational experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, or shipping;
- Experience managing unionized personnel.
SKILLS:
- Ability to work under pressure and make decisions with a high degree of responsibility;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Have a positive attitude and highly developed leadership;
- Be able to work outdoors and on different shifts (on rotation) to supervise work;
- Must be able to climb aboard a ship to inspect work and communicate with the crew;
- Proficiency with common computer tools;
- Good knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI);
- Spoken and written bilingualism (French and English) suited to the position.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate the loading and unloading operations of containers from trains, ships, and trucks at our two terminals;
- Plan the equipment and labor needs required for the operation;
- Maintain or increase productivity goals by effectively using our material resources and storage environment;
- Enforce company safety regulations and work practices to ensure our employees work in a safe environment;
- Propose qualitative and productivity improvement measures;
- Make recommendations to improve customer service;
- Perform any other related tasks.
