REQUIREMENTS:

  • University and/or college degree in operations management, transportation logistics, or any other relevant field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of operational experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, or shipping;
  • Experience managing unionized personnel.

SKILLS:

  • Ability to work under pressure and make decisions with a high degree of responsibility;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Have a positive attitude and highly developed leadership;
  • Be able to work outdoors and on different shifts (on rotation) to supervise work;
  • Must be able to climb aboard a ship to inspect work and communicate with the crew;
  • Proficiency with common computer tools;
  • Good knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI);
  • Spoken and written bilingualism (French and English) suited to the position.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate the loading and unloading operations of containers from trains, ships, and trucks at our two terminals;
  • Plan the equipment and labor needs required for the operation;
  • Maintain or increase productivity goals by effectively using our material resources and storage environment;
  • Enforce company safety regulations and work practices to ensure our employees work in a safe environment;
  • Propose qualitative and productivity improvement measures;
  • Make recommendations to improve customer service;
  • Perform any other related tasks.
