CROSSLINX TRANSIT SOLUTIONS (CTS) IS A CONSORTIUM COMPRISED OF ELLISDON, ATKINSRÉALIS, AECON, AND ACS - DRAGADOS. CTS HAS BEEN SELECTED BY METROLINX AND INFRASTRUCTURE ONTARIO TO DELIVER THE EGLINTON CROSSTOWN LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT PROJECT AND IS SEEKING HIGHLY QUALIFIED, EXPERIENCED PERSONNEL TO JOIN THE TEAM OF THIS COMPLEX P3 DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION PROJECT.

The successful candidate will be integral to the ECLRT Operations team’s success. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe movement of trains on both the EMSF Yard and Mainline (Future), including test track.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Desirable 5+ years directly relevant to the position.
  • Previous rail or rolling stock experience desirable although experience in a similar industry will also be considered.
  • Ability to successfully communicate with vendors, contractors, client’s representatives, and team members.\
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Successful completion of a high school diploma. A college diploma and/or a university degree will be considered an asset.
  • Previous background in rail traffic control, train operations, maintenance operations, SCADA systems, or other service/help desk operations are all assets.
  • Previous Service Desk, Help Desk, Call Centre or Technical Support experience is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of previous experience in transportation and logistics are considered assets.
  • Ability to identify, clarify, and resolve issues and risks, escalating them as needed.
  • Analytical, technical skills and attention to detail are critical.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, reliability and collaboration in a shift-working environment.
  • Decision making skills and an ability to work efficiently in an unsupervised environment.
  • Must possess sound judgment as well as effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Must possess strong English communications skills and an ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is essential, especially MS Outlook and Excel.
  • Operation of a Computer based Train Control System is desirable.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, coordinate and control access on the Mainline.
  • Perform administrative tasks and engage with the Health and Safety team to ensure adherence to Crosslinx HSE processes.
  • Observe operational responsibilities during emergency events (unauthorized access, Fire Alarm activation, etc.)
  • Handle operational incidents in accordance with incident response protocols.
  • Supervise a team & monitor the behaviour of team members.
  • Produce learning, training and competency management materials and documentation to support the follow up and review of training activities.
  • Maintain all aspects of training documentation, certification and records to ensure these are accurate, maintained and up to date.
  • Ensure that all members of staff are fully competent to undertake technical and maintenance activities.
  • Focus on interface and relationship with the operator of the ECLRT.
  • Supporting the day-to-day Operations team (internal and external).
  • Monitor and control train operations in the BOCC the Communications Based Train Control System.
  • Receive, log and answer customer problems/requests/issues.
  • Perform first level of problem identification and troubleshooting. Documenting troubleshooting process and assign case to next level support when required.
  • Assist with the monitoring and tracking of incidents to ensure resolution is within the parameters provided.
  • Perform the duties of control room operator in a fast paced & dynamic environment.
  • Ensure emergency operating procedures are in place and implemented as required.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adherence to all T&C Rail Operating Rules and procedures, including impairment and hours of work policies.
  • Carry out activities in a method that will not cause harm to themselves or other staff.
  • Ensure vehicles and/or equipment are safely stored and secured.
  • Experience with an incident tracking system.
