Description:
Marquis Snow and Ice Ltd. is seeking a qualified Operations Supervisor for Snow Plow Operations to join our fast-growing Operations Team for snow and ice removal. Our Operations Supervisors oversee the our snow and ice services as completed by Snow Plow Operators using wheel loaders with snow blades, tractors with snow blades, sidewalk plows with salters, and pickup trucks with plow and salter.
The hourly rate depends on site location and experience. The snow and ice removal season runs from November 1 through April 1, depending on the weather conditions.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of operators, ensuring they are adequately equipped, motivated, and trained to carry out their duties effectively.
- Develop and implement operational plans and schedules for snow removal, road maintenance, and property upkeep, considering weather forecasts, client requirements, and resource availability.
- Conduct regular inspections of work sites to ensure quality standards are met, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of team members and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance schedules, monitor equipment usage, and oversee inventory management to ensure availability of necessary tools and materials.
- Proactively identify operational challenges and develop effective solutions to minimize disruptions and meet service delivery targets.Maintain accurate records of work activities, including service logs, equipment maintenance records, and incident reports.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Valid drivers license with clean drivers abstract.
- Experience in a supervisory role within the property maintenance or facilities management industry, with a focus on snow removal and road maintenance.
- Valid drivers license with clean drivers abstract.
- Availability November 1 through April 1 to be on standby and to attend to assigned snow plowing operations.
- Ability to work outdoors in various conditions including cold and snow.
- Ability to work overnight, weekends and on public holidays.
