Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Operations Supervisor (Hybrid) to be based in Novi, Michigan.
JOB SUMMARY:
Fulfilling this role involves splitting a normal work week between deliverable production for the Transportation Management and Academics Program (T-MAP) and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Practice Line administrative functions.
- T-MAP involvement (~20 hrs./week) will include executing the responsibilities of an Instructional Designer (ID). An ID is responsible for creating engaging and effective learning experiences for a variety of audiences. This role involves analyzing training needs, developing instructional materials, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs.
- Project Administrator (PA, ~20 hrs./week) will involve supporting TMC and Traffic Engineering managers with administrative functions and deliverables associated with maintaining a fiscally and managerially compliant contract.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS + 6 years or relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- ID Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or a related role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design, adult learning theory, and experience with e-learning platforms and tools.
- Proficiency in e-learning development tools (LMS platforms, and multimedia editing software).
- Solid understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models and e-learning standards.
- Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging learning materials.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
- PA Experience:
- Knowledgeable in all functional areas of project administration, supporting both local and national project managers with service delivery and administrative upkeep on an as-needed basis.
- Strong user background in MS Office applications and AECOM financial systems.
- Experienced in TMC operations, to include standard operating procedures, hiring and onboarding processes, quality control systems, and administrative reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with project management tools is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructional Design Related
- Collaborate with clients and project managers to identify training needs and performance gaps. Conduct thorough needs analyses to determine the learning objectives.
- Design and develop instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training (ILT) materials, job aids, and assessments. Ensure that all content aligns with adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
- Create interactive and engaging learning content using various tools such as Prezi, Clipchamp, Vyond, Google Classroom or other e-learning software. Develop course materials, including storyboards, scripts, and multimedia elements.
- Design and develop comprehensive training curricula that meet organizational goals and learner needs. Structure content to ensure logical flow and effective learning experiences.
- Incorporate multimedia elements (graphics, audio, video) to enhance learning experiences. Work closely with multimedia developers and graphic designers to create high-quality training materials.
- Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously. Develop project timelines, coordinate with team members, and ensure the timely delivery of training materials.
- Develop assessment tools to measure the effectiveness of training programs. Analyze training outcomes and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
- Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), trainers, and other stakeholders to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
- Stay current with industry trends, instructional design technologies, and best practices. Continuously improve and update training materials based on learner feedback and performance data.
- Collaborate with and support project management staff on company financial systems and processes.
- Compile reports covering business costs and overhead/fringe charges.
- Review of client invoices, quality checking and correcting coding of AP invoices.
- Oversight of national TMC and SSP uniform programs.
- Research for and development of trending and forecasting reports, comprised of data from multiple sources.
- Critical review and analysis of project variances in cost and schedule to make recommendations for corrective actions.
- Project financial reviews based on initial proposed, remaining schedule, and estimates to completion.
- Development and maintenance of project and practice line SharePoint sites.
- Various forms of communication with clients, staff, and sub consultants for meetings, conferences, training sessions, post incident analyses, event management planning, and ad-hoc purposes.
- Special projects as assigned by project and practice line management across both the East and West Regions.
