Catholic Charities of Baltimore, Our Daily Bread Employment Center is looking for a part-time Operations Supervisor, who will manage the day-to-day operations of the facility and provide direction to staff. The part-time work schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 8:30am – 4:30pm.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field such as management, business, human services
- Two years of related experience in human services, building operations or related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIREMENTS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to be flexible with schedule and shift changes with the ability to workdays, weekends, and holidays and accessible by phone.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Service-oriented and able to resolve client concerns and grievances.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to act with discretion, tact, and professionalism in all situations.
- Ability to influence and engage staff.
- Effective conflict resolution skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate activities as appropriate.
- Requires the ability to utilize computer systems and software necessary to perform position functions. Basic Windows PC, web browsing (i.e. Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.), and Microsoft Outlook skills required. Other Microsoft Office application knowledge, such as Word, Excel PowerPoint, Skype, and OneDrive desired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one work site to another.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
- Hearing and vision abilities within normal range (corrected) to drive safely and to observe and communicate with clients.
- If driving on Agency business, must be at least 21 years of age and have valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence, with no more than 3 points.

Responsibilities:
- Address critical building issues that arise and resolve staff, client, or volunteer concerns.
- Possess a working knowledge of services provided to clients.
- Assure the safety and security of clients, staff, and volunteers.
- Assist in oversight of food service as required.
- Monitor and report needed facility repairs and maintenance in a timely manner.
- Coordinate the maintaining inventory, receiving, distribution and keeping proper documentation of donations.
- Ensure adequate coverage for shifts.
- Meet regularly with staff on shifts to review work routines, training in emergency response, and security of the programs.
- Work as a member of the team in collaboration with all other employees and volunteers to deliver the highest quality services to all clients.
- Manage and direct the work of up to 10 employees, including recruiting new hires, onboarding new staff, and conducting performance reviews.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
