ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Capability to plan, schedule, prioritise and co-ordinate all operations activities to ensure that production plans and targets are met safely and effectively.
  • Familiar with and have an understanding of the Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.
  • Requirement to raise any non-conformance to supervisor in timely fashion.
  • Excellent working knowledge with O&G offshore and other relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Experience of incident investigation skills.
  • Relevant time served technical apprenticeship.
  • Ability to deploy engineering & operational standards / procedures that meet both regulatory and safety standards.
  • Ability to identify, investigate, audit and control technical change (within limit of discipline knowledge).
  • Ability to effectively lead and manage multi-disciplined team (supervisory skills).
  • Ability to provide guidance and motivation to co-workers.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Clear, fluent and expressive use of verbal and written language to convey information and ideas.
  • Input into project/ asset plans in timely fashion.
  • Perform the role of deputy OIM / stand in OIM if/when required.
  • Experience in supervising production and/or maintenance operations.
  • High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format.
  • Effective/competent MS Office Suite User.
  • Proven experience in a similar leadership role.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for safe, effective and efficient delivery of offshore operations Manage and lead a multi-disciplined offshore operations team.
  • To ensure that the planning and implementation of all production activities are carried out to maximise optimum oil / gas production rates within safety, environmental, legislative and company requirements.
  • This role is a key part of the offshore leadership team and requires active and visible commitment to safety leadership.
  • Take personal responsibility for safety and adhere to Petrofac’s Life Saving Rules.
  • ‘Live’ our Petrofac Values and apply them in day-to-day work.
  • Participation in the annual performance review process, completing meaningful scorecards through SMART objectives and completing reviews in line with the company driven timeframe.
  • Direct team to ensure safe and efficient running of plant equipment and utilities with minimal environmental impact.
  • Assist the coordination of shutdown programmes and the implementation of safety procedures and practices.
  • Ensure optimisation and efficiency of systems in order to meet production targets in conjunction with The Maintenance Supervisor in relation to maintenance and inspection requirements.
  • Co-ordinate closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to carefully plan and interface all maintenance activities related to production operations.
  • Monitor operations and submit proposals for process / production improvements and cost savings to assist OIM with the department budget controls.
  • Optimise chemical injection consumption to minimise costs and maintain production quality and expectations.
  • Ensure immediate corrective action is taken to maximize production and control hazardous situations.
  • Act as Radiation Protection Supervisor, carrying out testing for NORM and implementing the required control measures.
  • Ensure relevant work audits eg Permit to Work, Stop Audits etc are completed.
  • Liaise with support team, vendors, as required and export system operators to ensure smoother and efficient production operations.
  • Ensure team awareness of plant status by using log books, toolbox talks, handovers etc.
  • Monitor and audit relevant records, registers, log books, and generates required reports.
  • Ensure compliance to Company procedures and controls, including assurance activities.
  • Perform the role of deputy OIM / stand in OIM as required.
  • Perform in an emergency response role as defined by the Company emergency response procedures manual and installation station bill.
  • Ensure compliance of appraisals in line with Company set timelines (Scorecards, Mid-Year Reviews and End of Year reviews). Ensure continuous development and training of your team, overseeing reports into the OTL role.
  • Ensure competence and appropriate training for all members of the operations department.
  • Responsible for all operations staff and to ensure a safe and proper handover is implemented by all operations personnel.
  • Analyse production data to ensure early identification of process issues.
  • Prepare and ensure that any isolations to plant / equipment are safely and correctly applied.
  • Investigate and report all production losses / shortfalls, identifying proposals to avoid repetition in the future (corrective action).
  • Permit to work area authority.
  • Ensure that all record keeping and reporting is carried out on time and to the required standards.
  • Incident controller during emergencies, taking appropriate measures to control incidents.
  • Operate the installation in accordance with the instructions / guidelines provided in the operations manual.
  • Liaise with onshore Process Engineers to ensure optimum production rates.
  • Act as an Area Authority within the SSoW permit system.
