A Day in the Life
Le stagiaire en excellence opérationnelle (OpEx) contribuera à l’amélioration de nos méthodes de fabrication sur le site de Pointe-Claire. Dans le cadre de son rôle, il mesurera les performances (par la mesure du temps et l’observation Gemba), identifiera les goulots d’étranglement et les opportunités d’amélioration, participera aux événements Kaizen et travaillera avec des équipes interfonctionnelles pour apporter des améliorations au site de fabrication afin d’améliorer les KPI (indicateurs clés de performance) en matière de sécurité, de qualité, de service et de livraison. Le stagiaire dirigera et participera également à la résolution de problèmes A3 DMAIC afin de résoudre les problèmes liés aux points clés et critiques, aux processus et aux systèmes.
Le parcours d’amélioration continue de Medtronic est guidé par le Medtronic Performance System (MPS), un système d’exploitation standardisé de méthodologies éprouvées qui élimine les sources de variation et fournit des résultats de performance cohérents et durables. Bien que le MPS comporte de nombreux éléments, le stagiaire se concentrera spécifiquement sur l’installation et l’amélioration du système de niveau (y compris le développement de normes, l’accompagnement de l’équipe interfonctionnelle dans l’application des normes et l’amélioration des normes).
Ce stage est une excellente occasion de développer et d’utiliser des compétences et des concepts d’ingénierie industrielle tout en acquérant une expérience pratique de l’amélioration continue dans l’industrie de la fabrication de dispositifs médicaux.
Il s’agit d’un poste rémunéré en personne, à temps plein (40 heures/semaine), d’une durée minimale de 12 semaines.

Doit avoir (exigences minimales) :

- Un minimum de deux ans d’études en vue de l’obtention d’une licence en génie industriel, en génie mécanique ou dans un domaine similaire est requis.

The Operational Excellence (OpEx) intern will assist in improving the way we manufacture throughout the Pointe Claire manufacturing site. As part of their role, they will measure performance (via time measurement and Gemba observation), identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities, participate in Kaizen events and work with cross-functional teams to make the improvements at the manufacturing site to improve Safety, Quality, Service and Delivery KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators). The intern will also lead and participate in A3 DMAIC Problem Solving to resolve key and critical point, process and system issues.
Medtronic’s continuous improvement journey is guided by the Medtronic Performance System (MPS), a standardized operating system of proven methodologies that eliminates sources of variation that provides consistent and sustainable performance results. While MPS has multiple elements, the intern will specifically be focusing on installing and improving the tier system (including standard development, coaching the cross-functional team to pursue the standards and improving the standards).
This internship is a great opportunity to develop and use industrial engineering skills and concepts along with getting hands on continuous improvement experience in the medical device manufacturing industry.
This is an in person, full-time (40 hours/week), paid position that is minimum 12 weeks long.

- Minimum of 2 years of studies in a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar field is required

- Participants must be able to participate full time (40 hours/week) from Monday, 23 Sep - Friday, December 20
Nice to have:
- Minimum of 1 year of studies in a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar field
- Minimum of a 3.0 out of 4.0 cumulative GPA
- Prior work on projects in a team environment
- Leadership experience in student groups, volunteer experience, and related extracurriculars
- Relevant academic project and/or internship experience
