Description:
An opportunity has come up for an Ophthalmic Specialist Nurse.
This role will be to support Emergency Ophthalmic Flow within the Trust , and the treatment and management of ophthalmic patients.
Specific Job Role and Purpose - Ophthalmic Specialist nurse
- Coordinating patient Ophthalmic pathways in line with national/local targets and clinical need
- Clinics to support Rapid Access clinics.
- Outreach and pull from the Emergency Department to support streaming of ophthalmic patients.
- Support Triage of emergency referrals, and the development of pathways for these patients.
- Ensure care programmes and pathways meet GIRFT recommendations and evidence-based practice.
