YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Legal qualifications as a medical practitioner
  • FRANZCO or equivalent
  • Experience in paeidatric ophthalmology
  • A high level of relevant ophthalmic clinical skills in the outpatient and operating settings
  • Minimum 5 years experience in ocular genetics
  • Excellent communication skills with children, their families, and all levels of staff and a positive attitude and demonstrated capacity to work harmoniously and collaboratively within a team

Responsibilities:

The RCH Ophthalmology Department is seeking a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a subspecialty in Ocular Genetics to join the team on a Part Time Fixed Term basis for 6 months. You will be responsible for delivering paediatric ophthalmic care to referred inpatients and outpatients of the Royal Children’s Hospital Ophthalmology Department. You will work in a supportive team environment, comprising of ophthalmologists, orthoptists and junior medical staff. Additional responsibilites within the role include (but are not limited to) providing active clinical supervision and training to junior medical staff, medical students and allied health colleagues and students.
We are seeking an ophthalmologist with experience and strong clinical skills in general paediatric eye care provision, who has a positive mindset and demonstrates strong skills in communication and collaboration.
