Description:

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be helping patients with frame selection and provide an estimate for lenses. Familiarity with medical terminology and experience working in an optical dispensary would be an asset.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in an optical setting or medical office is an asset.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems, particularly Optosys, is a plus.
  • Sales experience in retail or optical environments is beneficial.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and satisfaction.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills advance your career in the optometric field.
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 36 per week

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate electronic medical records are maintained.
  • Assist patients with lens and frame selection, order spectacles and manage the dispensary inventory.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the optical dispensary.
  • Handle insurance verification and assist patients with claims processing.
  • Provide friendly customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns promptly.
