Description:
OVERVIEW
Seeking energetic and very well organized new team members for our busy eye care clinic, located in downtown Toronto. All training will be provided. Positions are client-facing, with patients ranging from infants to seniors, so the ability to deal comfortably and professionally with all ages and varying personalities will be quite important.
Office uses dedicated software and technology. Job description will include answering phones, scheduling and recalling patients’ appointments, insurance billing, ordering of goods, maintaining inventories and pre-testing of patients, as well as some contact lenses training to patients.
Customer service experience will be valued. Positions available are Part-Time.

SKILLS
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is an asset but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to optometry and eye care is an asset.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems is an asset.
- Excellent patient care skills, with an emphasis on creating a welcoming atmosphere for patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients and team members, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate record keeping and efficient office operations.

Pay: $17.75-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 40 per week

Responsibilities:
- Assist optometrists during patient examinations by preparing the examination room and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use.
- Perform preliminary tests on patients, including visual field tests and other basic assessments.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure all patient information is up-to-date.
- Provide excellent customer service at the front desk, including scheduling appointments, billing, and managing patient inquiries.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
