JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the daily operations of our optometry practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
SKILLS
- Experience in retail sales or optical environments is preferred.
- Understanding of medical terminology related to optometry and eye care.
- Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting while also being self-motivated.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous but not required.
- Proficiency in front desk operations within a medical office setting is beneficial.

Responsibilities:
- Assist optometrists during patient examinations by preparing the examination room and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use.
- Perform preliminary tests and gather patient history, including medical and optical information.
- Manage electronic medical records efficiently, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of patient information.
- Provide excellent front desk support, including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and addressing patient inquiries.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care and eyewear options while promoting retail sales of optical products.
- Maintain inventory of optical supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment to enhance patient experience.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality patient care.
