JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the daily operations of our optometry practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

SKILLS

  • Experience in retail sales or optical environments is preferred.
  • Understanding of medical terminology related to optometry and eye care.
  • Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting while also being self-motivated.
  • Experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous but not required.
  • Proficiency in front desk operations within a medical office setting is beneficial.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist optometrists during patient examinations by preparing the examination room and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use.
  • Perform preliminary tests and gather patient history, including medical and optical information.
  • Manage electronic medical records efficiently, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of patient information.
  • Provide excellent front desk support, including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and addressing patient inquiries.
  • Educate patients on proper contact lens care and eyewear options while promoting retail sales of optical products.
  • Maintain inventory of optical supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment to enhance patient experience.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality patient care.
