Description:
Applications are invited for the position of B7 Optometrist 7.5 hours / 0.20 wte (Tuesday) - there is the possibility of splitting this role if candidates only want one session - based at the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
Our contact lens and LVA service has undergone a recent service redesign and we are looking for an optometrist with special interest in CL/ LVA to become part of this team - assessing a wide range of complex adult/paediatric patients.
The team will compromise of Contact Lens and Anterior Segment Principal, Specialist Optometrist (this post) , a Low Visual Aid Clinician and a Contact Lens / LVA Clinic technical assistant and Co-ordinator. You will be professionally responsible to the CL & anterior segment Principal / managerially to the Head of Orthoptics & Refractive Optometry.
You will be working closely with our diverse team of 13 orthoptists and their support team - 2 paediatric Consultant Ophthalmologists / Corneal specialist Ophthalmologist plus other ophthalmology consultant/team.
We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated applicants, capable of working individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team. The post holder undertake a wide range of optometric duties, providing services to specialised paediatric, corneal, glaucoma, neurological, diabetic and macular clinics.
