Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We have 2 permanent full-time roles available offering a variety of shifts from Monday through Sunday.
As an Oranga Coordinator you will be working closely with Māori patients and whānau to provide support and guidance when presenting to the hospital and through the duration of their inpatient, outpatient or community admission. You will work in active partnership with colleagues to identify any barriers to provision of excellent assessment and treatment, ensuring delivery of care incorporates a cultural lens during through their care journey.
This position plays a key role in ensuring Māori patients and whānau are empowered, have confidence in the service Te Toka Tumai provide them and trust the benefits to themselves, and their whānau.You will provide support and guidance to whānau, to help them develop their own coping mechanisms and strengthen their ability to support the patient in the post-discharge period.
This is a vital role within the wider Māori Health Provider Services team and are essential in bettering outcomes for Māori. For further details, please refer to the position description.

We are looking for Māori that have lived experience in community-based environments, cultural groups, Marae, Hāpu, Iwi, working in Māori health or social service providers. You’ll have the ability to whakawhanaunga to form authentic, strong, meaningful connections with people and advocate for others in a mana enhancing way.
