Overview:
We are currently looking for someone to join our team in the role of Organizational Culture and DEI Manager. This role is hybrid and has flexibility to work both remotely and in one of our offices within Ontario. There may be infrequent travel to offices within the province.
The Organizational Culture, Diversity and Inclusion Manager will contribute to fostering an environment where diversity is celebrated, and every employee feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. They will lead shaping CarePartners culture and implementing strategies that encompasses initiatives in diversity and inclusion, organizational culture, engagement, employee attraction and retention.

What The Role Involves:
DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
- Plan and implement CarePartners D&I strategic initiatives and priorities in partnership with the DEI Steering Committee
- Lead the development and implementation of D&I specific policies, procedures and related training initiatives ensuring they reflect all groups, including employees, patients and partners
- Evaluate CarePartners current policies, practices and programs with a D&I lens and make recommendations that consider legislation, and best practice
- Provide consultation, coaching, and delivery of D&I education to staff to increase the individual and collective capability for managing across differences and foster inclusion through promotion of dignity, inclusion, equity, and belonging for all patients, families, employees, and visitors regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, age, religious or cultural beliefs, language, sexual orientation, abilities/disabilities, socioeconomic status, and geographic region.
- Partner with the DEI Steering Committee and leaders to embed diversity and inclusion, in CarePartners learnings, procedures, policies, communications, marketing, strategic initiatives and other areas
- Accountable for the planning, implementation, delivery and monitoring of D&I related initiatives across the organization, in collaboration with the D&I Commitment Team
- Lead the execution and analysis of CarePartners Annual D&I survey
- Responsible for the development and communication of the D&I annual report to the organization
- Maintain a strong understanding of the current literature and the legal and legislative frameworks related to D&I; conduct industry research using online tools and publications; identify opportunities for ongoing development and revision of CarePartners D&I strategy and associated initiatives
- Act as an expert resource to ensure D&I research related issues are disseminated to the DEI Steering Committee and across the organization
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships externally in the sector and other sectors to understand changing trends impacting D&I programs and best practices
- Represent CarePartners publicly at conferences and speaking engagements to expand network for the organization
- Participate in the review and sign-off process for patient-facing resources and collateral, as well as public-facing PR, social, recruitment and marketing campaigns
- Support the DEI Steering Committee with insights on communicating diversity & inclusion information internally and issues management when needed
- Own the communications roadmap and governance of CarePartners D&II strategic plan
- Partner with internal communications to share the impact of D&I outcomes through innovative impactful communication tactics
- Continuously assess and make recommendations to improve employee experience (onboarding, mentorship, learning and development etc.) from a D&I lens
- Partner with Director, Privacy and Patient Partnerships, cross functional groups, Patient Groups, Partner Networks, Inclusion Council and other parties to understand opportunities, tailoring strategies and programs to address identified D&I needs
- Act as a genuine and trusted D&I advocate for employees, patients and other partners and a change champion for CarePartners
- Work with the DEI Steering Committee to develop a comprehensive calendar outlining annual activities (events, programs, milestones), and track progress on key D&I metrics
- Lead the preparation and review of DEI Committee material, presentations for leadership and executive team, and ensure meeting minutes are documented and distributed
- Lead the development of D&I Employee Resource Groups (ERGs); lead the development of the group structure, training, communications, initiatives, events and success measurement.
- Partner with the employee resource groups (ERGs) to ensure their voices are amplified and enable them to be strategic partners to the business.
- Provide oversight in the management of individual ERG budgets ensuring programs and initiatives are delivered within assigned budget
- Project yearly D&I expenditures for budgetary consideration and control
- Partner with Human Resources to audit job descriptions with respect to human rights and inclusion
- Develop training materials on diversity policies and practices
- Aid Marketing and Communications in establishing a positive D&I reputation for CarePartners both internally and externally.
- Perform other special projects as assigned
What You Bring:
- College or bachelor’s degree in Diversity Studies, Organizational Development, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Health Sciences, Human Resources, Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field is required
- Project Management Certification is an asset
- At least 3-5 years’ experience of relevant Project Management and or Change Management experience leading multiple projects in the healthcare environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of anti-oppression, equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism frameworks, and application in organizational settings
- Working knowledge of current literature related to accessibility, diversity, equity and inclusion
- Conceptual understanding of the dimensions of diversity
- Conceptual understanding of how to build diversity competency in the healthcare context
- Ability to understand, develop, maintain, and support the implementation of policies and procedures related to diversity
- Strong leadership, influencing, relationship and team-building skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Highly motivated self-starter, able to work effectively independently and as a part of a team
- Ability to communicate effectively, tactfully and professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Willingness to learn and grow, and embrace/cultivate new ideas and ways of working
- Solid computer literacy, including effective working skills of Microsoft 365
- Valid driver’s license, own vehicle and appropriate insurance
- Ability and willingness to travel primarily within Ontario
