Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Assistant Band 3

After initial training, the post-holder will be able to progress Orthopaedic patients with exercises and mobility towards a safe discharge home independently. They will participate in joint rehabilitation sessions with registered therapists requiring physical effort and the use of manual handling equipment. The post-holder will also be responsible for the maintenance, storage and ordering of walking aids, recording statistics and making onward out-patient physiotherapy referrals as well as other administrative tasks as required. There will be a regular weekend commitment (one weekend day every four weeks) with a non-working day in the week to compensate when these shifts arise.
This is part of a roster pattern. The orthopaedics team is currently also going through a consultation regarding extending thier working pattern to provide a service 8am-8pm this may either be as a longer day or a later start and later finish
