The OT Engineer reports to the Regional OT Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly engage and support our offshore technicians and other relevant departments in Operations in their work
- Monitor the status of services within your scope and coordinate measures to ensure functionality (maintenance, updates, upgrades, replacements)
- Independently carry out diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify, record and rectify faults and coordinate internally, suppliers and third-parties parties where required
- Prepare root cause analyses for failures and malfunctions of the SCADA and OT infrastructure and develop detailed technical solution proposals when required
- Maintain, repair and troubleshoot the offshore data centers, PLCs and control systems
- Standardize, monitor and facilitate the continuous improvement of the predictive and preventative maintenance program.
- Drive changes and projects in line with our internal standards and practices
- Create update and maintain related documentation on systems and processes in your scope
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers within your scope
- Have an awareness of major vendor documentation systems and day to day processes required to interact with various OEM’s.
- Assist with the creation of work scopes and bid packages and/or oversee portions of various plant outages. Interact with various contractors to ensure scopes are applied and completed according to predetermined schedules.
- Assist in the development of project schedules within area of scope in alignment with other departments in Operations and Maintenance
- Support Northland in the technological development of the OT landscape and best practices
- Provide OT expertise to new projects within the Northland Group
- Work according to ITIL, ISMS and ISO 27001
- Required to travel in the north of Germany and able to work on-site offshore
- Uphold Northlands values on Health and Safety on site in the windfarms and office locations

Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or experience as an OT Engineer with several years of professional experience.
- Sound knowledge and several years of experience in OT & Scada systems
- Experience in network operations is desirable
- A thorough understanding of how to perform all job requirements in a safe manner, in compliance with all local acts and regulations, so as not to endanger themselves, fellow workers or site equipment.
- A strong desire to “do what it takes” to ensure the reliability and availability of the facility with ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays as dictated by plant schedules. The ability to travel may also be required.
- Strong personal and technical skills
- Strong troubleshooting and fault isolation skills
- Practical experience with SCADA systems and automatization development (Bachmann solutions, EcoSui and Zenon)
- The ability to install, troubleshoot and maintain all manner of equipment typical to a generation facility.
- Logical understanding of OT environments
- Experience in working in Critical Infrastructure regulated environment
- Structured way of working, team and communication skills
- Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) and maintenance management software packages.
- Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
