Description:

SUMMARY

The OT Field Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of operational technology systems at company sites. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The OT Field Technician ensures that all systems operate efficiently and meet the company’s’ operational requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned as needed)

  • Adheres to, supports and complies with all company safety and environmental policies and practices. Ensures all employees, contractors and visitors conduct themselves safely and within company policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Install, configure, and calibrate OT hardware and software systems.
  • Set up network configurations and ensure secure communications between devices.
  • Conduct initial testing and validation of installed systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance on OT systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues with hardware and software components.
  • Provide on-site support and remote troubleshooting as needed.
  • Adhere to company and industry standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Work closely with the OT team, engineers, and project managers to complete projects.
  • Provide feedback and insights to improve system design and functionality.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and industry trends.
  • Actively collaborates as a team member in a high-performance cross functional work team environment, including operations, development, and construction technical resources, engineering, and IT.
  • Takes immediate corrective action in response to emergency situations to minimize safety hazards and to reduce damage or downtime to the plant and its equipment.
  • Ability to travel.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE –

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field, or relevant work or military experience.
  • Experience in OT, IT, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in networking, computer hardware, software installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of OT protocols and security measures.
  • Understanding of the OSI Network Model.

LANGUAGE SKILLS –

  • Ability to read and interpret work from simple and/or complex instructions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS –

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS -

  • Ability to read and interpret work from simple and/or complex instructions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence.

REASONING ABILITY & DECISION-MAKING SKILLS -

  • Possess great attention to detail and have excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
