Outage Coordinator, Christina Lake
This role is a key part of the Maintenance team working directly at our operating site, Christina Lake. The Outage Coordinator is focused on the development and ongoing management of the Integrated Activity Plan (IAP) and coordination of Outage Scopes focusing on scope driver and opportune maintenance to fit within the allotted outage window. The IAP is used to consolidate activity across multiple functions and allow it to be executed on one plan. To achieve this cross-functional execution the Outage Coordinator works closely with the Operations teams, Planning and Scheduling team, Operations Coordinators, Maintenance Leads, Superintendents and Asset and Facility Engineering teams.
To succeed in this role, the Outage Coordinator will work with all teams to ensure we are scheduling to ensure optimal maintenance of our equipment, compliance with our regulatory milestones and reacting to changes in our equipment and process performance. The IAP schedule is managed in conjunction with the regular maintenance schedule.
Your Day to Day will include:
- Provide leadership and program participation in establishing a strong safety culture within MEG Energy’s organization, its vendors, service providers and contractors
- Ensure that scheduling, coordination and execution of concurrent activity optimizes resource allocation, production efficiency and is a key input into the organization’s production forecast
- Review IAP Request Submissions and submit for approval
- Facilitate the IAP and IAP Development Meetings
- Coordinate Outage Scope review with the appropriate groups after compiling work orders to be considered for inclusion
- Facilitate Outage Readiness Review Meetings
- Facilitate Post Outage reviews to capture learnings from outages.
- Review of Regulatory Inspections and Servicing to ensure work is submitted into Maximo with regulatory due dates
- Review draft schedules to capture and coordinate work for associated equipment and confirm with Operations that maintenance activities can be accommodated
- Ensure outage work is progressing appropriately and on time through the work management process from identification of work through to execution
- Identify risks posed by concurrent activities
- Partner with Scheduler to cooperate on integrated transition from short to medium to long term scheduling and provide vacation coverage for Scheduler
- Work with Turnaround and Maintenance teams to define maintenance to be performed as outages within TA time window
What you will bring to MEG:
- Relevant trade technical diploma or 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate
- A minimum of five years of experience operating in a large industrial facility; SAGD experience preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Project management certification or planning and scheduling training is an asset.
- Previous experience in a Scheduling role is an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of Turnaround and Maintenance Management processes including planning/scheduling, cost estimating, cost control, change management, financial, and project controls.
- Must be able to read piping and instrument drawings.
- Strong Operating or Maintenance background with SAGD experience is an asset
- Full knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and standard practices with Maximo direct experience as a strong asset.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent computer skills working with MS office is required
- A self-starter, pro-active work style and the ability to work with minimal supervision is required.
- This position is a Fly-In, Fly-out position, working on a 7/7rotation (Tuesday-Tuesday), flying out of Calgary or Edmonton
