Description:

Provide a fully comprehensive and specialised service to fulfil requests within the Trust for the creation and maintenance of outpatient clinics
Provide expertise and support to service users, e.g. other directorates, and external referrers on slot scheduling, ensuring outpatient clinic sessions are set up, amended or deleted in an efficient and effective manner.

Responsible for developing, implementing and reviewing agreed Trust wide procedures for the following:

  • Electronic Referral System slot allocation
  • Cancellation or Reduction of appointment slots
  • Alterations to appointment slots
  • Rescheduling of patient appointments
  • Ensure the creation of new services; amendments to clinic schedules and any deletions are accurate to ensure the valid capture of data.
  • Advise and support Directorate Management Teams in the implementation of business plans to achieve outpatient waiting list management targets; partial booking forecasts; Patient Choice; and ERS services, ensuring that appropriate outpatient administrative systems and procedures are in place to facilitate the development and implementation of plans
  • Ensure the complete transfer of funds for the setup of new or additional services from the appropriate directorate
  • Build and maintain regular, effective communications with Directorate Management Teams and other departments, alerting them to changes which may affect their service
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of any operational changes to systems as required
  • Continually develop one’s understanding and application of developments and strategic matters relating to the provision of outpatient services, both locally and nationally
  • To maintain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of outpatient systems, their purpose within the Trust,
