Job Summary:
Executes key CSA initiatives to meet the strategic objectives to address outreach, engagement, participation and advocacy. Manages strategies and support of outreach and engagement activities related to standards development and broader standards solutions, as part of member meetings, forums and standards events.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop strategies and tactics to support engagement, participation and outreach activities.
  • Raising awareness, promotion and advocacy of CSA strategies and initiatives.
  • Planning, designing and delivery of engagement programming for member meetings, forums and other standards events.
  • Enhancing member and participant experience as part of member meetings, forums and other standards events.
  • Coordinating with standards development staff to support standards initiatives and other standards-based solution opportunities (workshops, info-sessions and other events).
  • Coordinating with other standards functional group (Research, Public Policy, GR, Education) to support outreach and engagement.
  • Monitoring outcomes of outreach and engagement, including managing and reporting metrics, feedback and lesson learned, for continuous improvement.
  • Reports to Manager, Standards Events and has no direct reports.
  • Works with all levels of CSA staff (e.g., Directors, Program Managers, Strategic Initiatives Managers, Project Managers).
  • Works with other standards functional groups (e.g., Research, Government Relations, Public Policy, Education).

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in an appropriate field (e.g. Business Administration, Community Engagement/Outreach, Marketing, Event Management) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably in a not-for-profit environment, with specific evidence of project management, outreach & engagement, and/or event planning and execution.
  • Excellent project management skills, ability to self-manage and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Customer service experience, including conflict resolution.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, strong presentation skills and conflict resolution skills required.
  • Self-starter, highly organized, detail oriented, entrepreneurial.
  • Able to build and maintain positive and effective working relationships with internal and external parties including senior players in the industry.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, show initiative and be proactive.
  • Adaptable to changes in process, systems, organization structures and priorities.
  • Be willing and able to travel, and possess a valid drivers’ license.
  • Candidates with proficiency in French will be given special consideration.
