Description:

Pete’s Tire Barns was started by Peter A. Gerry in 1968 and has grown to one of the largest independent tire dealerships in the country. Pete’s currently operates 22 full-service locations in New England, a state-of-the art Distribution Center, 3 Bandag retread facilities, employs in excess of 300 people, and operates a fleet of over 100 service and delivery vehicles. Today, approximately 90% of our business is in the commercial truck tire and related markets. Pete’s services everything from a wheelbarrow tire up to an earthmover tire.

Outside Commercial Tire Sales Rep Qualifications:

  • Driver’s License & clean driving record required
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • 3+ years of progressive sales experience in a related field required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Related Field preferred

OUTSIDE COMMERCIAL TIRE SALES REP REQUIREMENTS:

  • Manage Heavy Truck, OTR, Agricultural, and Light Truck customer base in given area
  • Maintain existing business and establish prospective business through value driven customer specific product and service recommendations
  • Utilize our internal CRM software to build customer profiles, submit orders, and quote customers
  • Resolve customer issues by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations
  • Monitor local competition by gathering current market information on pricing, products, and delivery and service capabilities
  • Ethically meet and exceed sales and profitability expectations through best practices
  • Always represent one’s self and company professionally and maintain a professional appearance
  • Self-schedule and best manage time by creating and executing a work plan
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of company supported products and services to provide accurate information to customers
  • Willingness to help with various duties outside of normal functions such as inventory counts, occasional deliveries, store coverage, etc.
  • Work closely and as a team player with store, distribution, and office support personnel
  • Assist the Credit Manager in ensuring timely payment from assigned customer base
  • Perform a variety of manual tasks which may include fleet tire surveys, light and heavy lifting of commercial tires and wheels, standing, bending, sitting and squatting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to self-schedule
  • Ability to prospect new business, form an action plan, and successfully execute it
