Responsibilities:

  • Help deliver the Metcash Group People Strategy and Plan, tailoring where necessary to meet the specific needs of the Food pillar (business unit).
  • Develop the State or function annual people plan for those teams you partner, which enable the state and function to achieve its business goals. Plans cover all areas of People & Culture, Leadership & teams, Talent, Engagement and Learning, and current people opportunities e.g. Legislative changes such as Workplace Reforms.
  • Act as the people lead in major business changes, providing key stakeholders with capability, support, and effective people-related advice, coaching and change management practices to enable and embed major change.
  • Identify, design, and implement initiatives to ensure the food pillar has the right talent, in the right place, at the right time to Champion Successful Independents
  • Work closely with our central teams in Talent, IR/ER, Leadership & Learning, and P&C Advice Centre to leverage their advice & support to ensure the People plan is delivered for your partners.

You’re Likely a Match If

  • Extensive experience in a P & C / HR BP role operating at Senior Leadership level
  • Proven ability to influence and build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including varied levels of seniority
  • Sound problem solving skills, able to analyse facts or data to determine root causes of challenges and then able to propose solutions & implement
  • Adaptable and relatable style, with the ability to connect with colleagues at all levels of the organisation
  • Exposure to IR/ER and an understanding of the industrial relations landscape is an advantage
