Description:
MINIMUM POSITION KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Two years of experience in handling money and cashier duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent training/experience.
- Must be of legal age to sell alcohol in accordance with local host nation laws.
- Ability to read and write English is required.
- Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
- Possess a valid passport from their country and could obtain a work visa.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
- Candidate should be other country national (OCN) or local national (LN).
- Prefer candidate who has experience working on a US Government contract.
Responsibilities:
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Responsible for taking money in the form of cash, check, or credit card from patrons in exchange for Beer/Alcohol or merchandise. Scans items, provides change, balances drawer, and processes card transactions. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF).
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Scan items and ensures pricing is correct.
- Receive cash from customers or employees in payment for goods or services and records amounts received.
- Accept payment in the form of cash, credit card or check, following policies and procedures.
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
- Reconcile drawer at the end of the shift.
- Resolve amount discrepancies.
- Bag and/or box Beer/Alcohol or merchandise.
- Process returns and checks to see if items are damaged.
- Keep shelves inventoried and stocked.
- Answer customers’ questions and escalates issues to a manager if answer doesn’t solve the issue.
- Ensure that the work area is safe, clean and sanitary always.
- Ensure compliance all applicable standards, policies, and regulations.
- Maintain accountability of customers and property.
- Adhere to safety practices.
