Description:
Hellers Ltd is a leading New Zealand manufacturer and distributor of Bacon, Ham and Smallgoods. Our award-winning quality brands enjoy significant and growing customer and consumer recognition.
We are looking for a talented technical professional based in Kaiapoi, where we operate a factory, product development and warehousing & logistics facilities and maintain our head office. This is an important coordination role in which the core purpose will be to continue an existing review of packaging materials in support of our NPD team. This will include all recipe changes and generating product labelling specifications and loading and maintaining these on our specification management system (SpecRight). This role will support the NPD and wider technical function with paperwork associated with our NPD processes and changes to current products within the business.
Essential skills required for this role:
- A relevant tertiary qualification such as food/packaging technology/food processing and packaging or a scientific background
- Basic understanding of food labelling
- Ability to manage projects and solve problems within a given timeframe
- Excellent attention to detail and highly organised work habits
- Ability to work methodically with multiple sources of information
- Well developed communication skills acting in a manner that builds credibility, trust and fosters open communication
- Adaptable, trustworthy with excellent team spirit and strong interpersonal communication skills
Desired skills required for this role:
- FMCG experience
- Understanding of regulations for packaging requirements in different countries
- Project Management skills and relevant experience
You will have a real can-do attitude and enjoy being part of a diverse wider team. Your ability to work methodically with multiple sources of information will be the primary factor that will ensure your success in this role. Whilst relevant industry experience [e.g. within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment] is desirable, you will always have the support of the rest of the technical team in Kaiapoi and Auckland, as well as in Australia, with whom you may engage with from time to time.
