The Packaging Design and Equipment Sales Engineer will report to The Engineering management team and be responsible for assisting our packaging sales reps in selling state-of-the-art packaging machinery and solutions to food, industrial and commercial clients. They will also assist Equipment, Engineering and other team leaders in accomplishing the sales and quality objectives of ProPac. The Sales Engineer is a strategic thinker who can build strong client relationships and identify and move opportunities forward through the sales process.
QUALIFICATIONS:
General:
- Proven track record in B2B equipment sales, ideally in the packaging industry.
- History of package engineering
- Broad understanding of packaging processes and equipment.
- Results-oriented with a focus on achieving sales targets and objectives.
- Strong mechanical and sales aptitude.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Willingness to travel to meet clients and attend industry events.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, or related field (preferred), or sufficient relative experience
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in CAD and CRM software and MS Office Suite.
Math/Language/Reasoning Abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities:
SALES RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Packaging Sales Reps in selling Engineering and Equipment integration projects. Identify and help reps pursue new equipment opportunities within the packaging industry.
- Understand client needs and propose suitable packaging equipment solutions.
- Meet with sales reps and customers to showcase equipment capabilities.
- Execute strategic plans to help reps achieve sales targets and expand customer base.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with ProPac sales personnel and their clients.
- Assist sales team in presenting proposals, quotes, and contracts to potential clients.
- Assist ProPac sales in negotiating pricing, terms, and conditions of sales agreements with vendors and prospective customers.
- Achieve sales goals and objectives within established time frames.
- Provide regular updates and reports on sales activities, pipeline, and forecasts.
- Work with customers and vendors to achieve the right equipment solutions at the best price.
TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Engineering and Equipment management as requested in day-to-day operations
- Collaborate with other Engineering team members to ensure smooth operational processes implementation and customer satisfaction.
- Create CAD drawings of proposed Equipment integration projects.
- Create CAD drawings for ancillary components for outside fabrication
- Participate and engage in FATs and SATs to ensure customer satisfaction with solution sold.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, market developments, and competitors’ activities.
DESIGN AND TESTING RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Improve materials and products for our customers that will function optimally with the equipment utilized.
- Conduct lab tests utilizing external and internal labs and resources to determine functionality and quality of materials and products.
- Design packaging that enhances the customer experience for our customers and their end users.
