SALARY: $70,000 - $85,000 annually
SHIFT: Mostly Day; shifts vary based on operational needs
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma with demonstrated experience, or University degree in Engineering, Science, Operations Management, or Supply Chain
- Willingness to work rotating shifts
- 2- 5 years’ experience as a Senior Team Lead/Team Lead within a production environment
- Ability to balance competing priorities and motivate a diverse workforce
- Demonstrated ability to have difficult conversations, including coaching and discipline, within a unionized environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude; knowledge of packaging equipment an asset
- Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize and work in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
- Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English
- Engage in physical activities, including but not limited to: prolonged standing, walking.
- Participate in the hearing conservation program
- Ability to wear all PPE as required: including safety shoes, glasses, bump cap (plastic insert), hearing protection (jewelry must be taken off)
Responsibilities:
- Full ownership and 24/7 responsibility of all packaging areas (including both can & keg lines) with operations management support from Team Leads – to provide consistent and continuous focus.
- Responsible for the safety, quality, efficiency, maintenance reliability, financial performance, and team development of the Packaging department
- Professionally manage a strong relationship with all Packaging employees & other Departments
- Ensure task delivery, area of ownership and overall performance of the Team Lead group
- Hire, train, mentor, and coach Team Leads & Packaging workforce, in collaboration with Packaging Manager
- Prioritize training decisions & tracking for the Packaging workforce
- Responsible for daily performance reporting of repack, can & keg lines
- Develop and monitor production plans with Sequencer & Planners, and oversee activities to meet schedules and attainment objectives; ensure SAP and PRS execution is completed
- Follow VPO plant optimization management processes to drive the Weekly/Monthly departmental results utilizing a management system tools, methodologies and standards; close gaps in performance through Maintenance Prioritization cycle
- Ownership of SOP creation, packaging maintenance and integration
- Ability to reassign and delegate tasks, while ensuring accountability
- Organize Hourly 1:1 execution
- Troubleshoot recurring/chronic process problems; guide Team Leads, maintenance and operators to solutions
- Execute CAPEX projects & integration as assigned by Packaging Manager
- Owner of DayForce timesheet and vacation approval process for Packaging workforce
- During absences, act as back-up for Packaging Manager
- All other duties as assigned
