Ornua is actively seeking a Packaging Technologist to join our R&D Innovation team. This is a newly created role with opportunity for global travel.

WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE:

As Packaging Technologist , you will be responsible for the delivery and technical project management of packaging projects, ensuring that packaging solutions meet all legal, functional and customer/consumer requirements.
You will work closely with key internal stakeholders, acting as a voice of technology in your area of functional expertise. You will proactively work with external suppliers to ensure packaging performance and manage and present technical issues on existing packaging solutions.
You will keep up to date with packaging trends and technologies as well as customer needs and use your knowledge and insights to generate ideas to fuel the packaging strategy.
You will develop and maintain packaging specifications that are fit for purpose and volume manufacturing.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

5 years + packaging experience
FMCG background referred
Experience in packaged consumer goods
Experience introducing and validating new packaging projects and manufacturing processes
Good working knowledge of rigid and flexible packaging items
Ability to interpret and create technical drawings, ideally with 3D CAD experience
Experience working through a stage gate product development processes
Experience leading and delivering large technical work programmes with cross functional teams
