Fruitways is a leading agri-business in South Africa. We specialise in the growing, packing and marketing of apples and pears to retailers, traders and wholesalers around the globe.
PACKHOUSE MANAGER - MOLTENO
We are looking for a driven, dynamic and pro-active Packhouse Manager with strong leadership and communication skills. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible to optimise the efficiency and effectiveness of the packing operations of the Molteno Packhouse, part of the Fruitways Packing Services Division in Grabouw.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the effective implementation of packing schedules and production processes to ensure order fulfilment according to market demand.
- Ensure production KPI’s are in place and targets are met.
- Ensure that the relevant quality controls are in place, adhere to and meet customer expectations.
- Manage Packing Material function to ensure effective packhouse supply while meeting stock level and wastage KPI targets.
- Ensure that effective cost control measures are in place and that department are within budgetary targets.
- Manage and monitor that all relevant health and safety protocols and standards are adhered to according to HACCP/BRC and company regulations.
- Manage and maintain effective relationships with employees and shop stewards.
- Lead, Manage and motivate a team of production personnel, monitor productivity, and ensure continuous improvement of the production department.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a production management environment.
- Preferably a National Diploma in Production/Operations Management (NQF6 level) or Industrial Engineering qualification
- Computer literate and knowledge of systems.
- The ability to communicate effectively on all levels.
- Leadership ability to grow and develop team of Line Managers and Supervisors.
- Strong analytical skills.
