Description:

JOIN OUR TEAM AS A LINE LEAD BASED AT OUR DISTRIBUTION CENTRE IN TANKERSLEY.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Line Leader to oversee production lines using a weigh-price labelling and x-ray machine. The Line Leader will be responsible for leading a team of packers, to ensure that products are weighed, labelled, and packed to the highest standards while meeting daily production targets. This role requires hands-on operation of the above machines, team motivation, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience operating a weigh – price labelling or similar weighing and labelling equipment in a production environment.
  • Previous experience within a warehouse or production environment.
  • Strong communication, with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • Ability to handle manual tasks such as lifting and packing.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting into the Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the team are motivated to deliver the day-to-day performance of the department.
  • Operate the packing machines as assigned and described above to ensure products are accurately weighed, labelled, packed and sometimes x-rayed, according to customer and company specifications.
  • Lead a team of packers, ensuring smooth workflow, productivity, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Monitor the packing line to ensure efficiency, resolving any issues that may arise, such as equipment malfunctions or product discrepancies.
  • Train any new colleagues on proper machine operation, packing techniques, and safety practices, including the operation of the equipment.
  • Ensure quality control by regularly inspecting finished products and checking for accurate labelling, weight, and packaging standards.
  • Ensure team adherence to all health and safety standards, promoting a safe work environment.
  • Actively encourage positive behaviours with colleagues to help improve performance
  • Support and assist the Shift Supervisor with daily huddles, ensuring all tasks set are completed efficiently, escalating any issues to the Supervisor
  • Recording accidents and near misses
  • Any additional departmental tasks as and when required
