THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently seeking two Packing Room Team Leaders in the Boning Room department - one for the morning and one for the afternoon shift. As a team leader, you will oversee a team of skilled workers and ensure that all operations within the boning room are carried out efficiently and effectively. This includes monitoring production targets, ensuring the quality of the products, and enforcing compliance with all safety procedures. This role provides an excellent opportunity for you to develop and implement new strategies that can drive continuous improvement in the operations of the boning room. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Previous exposure to a Leading Hand Role
Responsibilities:
- Authority to stop production to hold product where there is a non-conformance with a customer requirement, an arrangement or any relevant regulation
- Manage time effectively so duties carried out by operators are in accordance to SOPs and WI’s
- Regularly monitor the product line and rectify any defects
- Check emails and Information Leader regularly for alerts, messages and action requests
- Ensure temperature requirements and residency times parameters are met at designated times and rectified when found non-conforming
- Complete all alert notifications and/or action requests and ensure orders are being produced/completed.
- Ensure requirements are met when producing MSA, Saudi and Non-Halal cattle
- Ensure Personal Protective Equipment is worn
- Instigate immediate corrective action when there is a zero-tolerance detected or a Non-Conformance is sighted
- Assist with ensuring manning is sufficient to maintain product safety and integrity
- Ensure all operators are always following correct procedures in the processing area. Monitor Personal Hygiene
- Ensure all operators performing tasks are qualified or accomplished by a trainer
- Ensure product flow with build is addressed immediately to prevent injury or production stoppages
- Mentor new starters and current employees
