Description:
An existing opportunity has arisen for a Paediatric Advanced Clinical Practitioner (pACP) to join our existing team to assist in providing acute nursing care to our patients who attend the Paediatric Emergency Department.
You will need to have a high level of Paediatric experience in an acute care setting and have sound clinical knowledge, whilst also demonstrating managerial and leadership qualities and abilities.
In order to support our seven-day medicine redesign programme and Ambulatory Care you will be required to work weekends and Bank Holidays.
You should have the ability to assess, diagnose and develop comprehensive management plans for paediatric patients under our care and c andidates are advised to review the personal specification for the essential qualifications for the role.
The successful candidate will need to be well organised, flexible and reliable with excellent communication and inter-professional skills. They will also need to be a team player and work alongside colleagues from different professional backgrounds.

Interviews: Candidates who are shortlisted for interview will participate in a clinical simulation assessment on the day of interview along with other assessment tasks,

The post holder will be an integral part of the ED Paediatric clinical team, demonstrating advanced autonomous clinical practice skills within the Paediatric Emergency Department
The role is predominantly clinical, and the post holder will be expected to see the full breadth of undifferentiated paediatric emergency department presentations age 16 and under. There will also be some specific patient groups up to age 18.
You will be the lead paediatric ACP, working alongside two trainee pACPs. You will be supported by a team of 18 ED consultants of which 3 have a paediatric specialist interest.
The post will involve evening and weekend work.
Acting within your professional boundaries, you will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making skills and will manage their own caseload. This will include initial history taking, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care for all undifferentiated patients that present at the Emergency Department.
The ACP will participate in educational sessions, clinical supervision, research, quality and service improvements, ensuring high quality, effective management and care of patients.
