Responsibilities:
This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Audiologist to join our busy and dynamic team in Child and Family. This is a temporary fulltime position, however, part-time and job share would be considered, with the possibility of extension. The position is based at various locations across the district, however, locations are negotiable. As a clinical leader, you will be required to balance your clinical case load with clinical and educational support to the Audiology team and Child & Family health service.
To provide high quality Child and Family Audiology assessment service to the patients, clients and carers of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD), in order to promote optimal health outcomes.
The Level 3 Senior Paediatric Audiologist
- Has a recognised clinical specialty within paediatric and adult audiology or a high level of broad generalist knowledge requiring high levels of clinical expertise and knowledge in disorders of hearing in babies and children.
- Effectively and professionally performs a range of specialised measures involved in the diagnosis of hearing loss and other auditory conditions, on an often complex and difficult-to-test population.
- Is able to provide clinical services to all client groups an circumstances of a complex nature requiring advance practice skills.
- Liaises with a wide range of agencies and consultants to ensure seamless transitions and optimal outcomes for patients and families, especially in the broad multi-cultural environment we serve.
- Provides clinical supervision and support to Level 1 and 2 audiologists and audiometrists.
- Provides education to professionals and students and work and work in a consultative role within paediatric audiology or across a broad range of clinical areas in audiology.
- Is able to demonstrate advanced reasoning skills and operate autonomously with minimum direct clinical supervision.
- Holds a leadership position within the department, and will work with the Unit Head to develop and maintain a high functioning team that delivers excellent clinical outcomes.
