Description:
You will be working as part of the Children’s Unit Nursing team, this role focuses on the provision of direct care to children and their families in an outpatient and clinic environment. The post holder will work with children and young people with varying health and social care needs.
The post holder will be an advocate for children and their families, promoting child focussed, family-centred care and facilitate effective liaison with the multi-disciplinary team and other professional colleagues and agencies involved within the child’s care.
The post holder will act as a role model in the delivery of patient care, support and teach staff contributing to the development of the service.

Primarily, the role of the children’s nurse in outpatients is to be part of the nurse-led clinic team. This is an independently run nurse clinic as part of a wide MDT. Referrals are taken from both in-house speciality teams and teams from the wide range of tertiary centres that we share patient care with.
