Description:
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHNT) Children’s Physiotherapy Service provides comprehensive services to paediatric and neonatal inpatients, children’s musculoskeletal outpatients and is subcontracted to provide children’s physiotherapy community services.
The Band 5 post holder will work in the acute physiotherapy team that provides a 7 day 24 hour inpatient service (08:00-18:00 day time hours with overnight on calls) to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Major Trauma, Accident and Emergency, tertiary services for infectious diseases and haematology, and general paediatric wards. The post holder will also manage children and young people with musculoskeletal conditions within outpatient settings.
When providing therapy within this Trust you will be expected to be professional, efficient and effective, with a commitment to evidence based practice, continuous professional development and the Trust values. The post holder will be expected to participate in the Trust Preceptorship programme during first year post qualification.
To manage own caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner with appropriate clinical supervision.
To consolidate and develop expertise across 4 pillars of practice (clinical, leadership, education and research).
To be responsible for own Continual Professional and Personal Development (CPPD).
To work effectively within the team, department and organisation.
To contribute to service improvement, evaluation, audit and research programmes.
The post holder will be required to work at weekends and the respiratory physiotherapy on call service as part of their contracted hours of work (specific rota details are held locally within departments) once the relevant induction and required competencies are achieved. We run separate rotas for adults and paediatric physiotherapy on call services.
