Description:

Cumulus Media | Chicago, IL has an immediate hybrid-remote opening for a full time Paid Search (SEM) Specialist. The ideal candidate will develop, implement, and optimize effective search campaigns to maximize KPI-based performance while keeping within fixed budgets and defined PPC rate ranges. This person will join our Ad Operations group to ultimately support a team of sellers in maximizing digital revenue growth in some of our largest and most strategic paid search accounts.
As a Paid Search (SEM) Specialist, you will be responsible for onboarding client campaigns, making strategic decisions, optimizing toward stated goals, and deriving reporting insights for “data storytelling”. You’ll also provide ongoing performance-based suggestions, sales support, creative management, and end-to-end facilitation of search engine marketing (SEM) solutions through tracking, reporting and analyzing website analytics, pay-per-click (PPC) initiatives and campaigns. Additionally, you will perform ongoing paid keyword discovery, expansion and optimization efforts to stay on top of market and industry trends.
You will have the opportunity to use your passion for digital marketing to develop personalized, innovative, full-scope advertising solutions to meet the marketing needs of new and existing clients through the integration of digital products and services focused on our advertisers’ end goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in digital marketing, with a focus on Google paid search
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prioritize and solve client issues
  • Demonstrated ability to self-motivated and task-oriented for complex and fast-paced projects
  • Time management and organizational skills, with high attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be a team player, with the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teammates
  • Proven track record of delivering successful digital campaigns that drive results
  • Familiarity with Google Ads (AdWords), Google Analytics, Google DV360 and CM360, YouTube Ads, Floodlight, and Google Tag Manager; Certifications in some/all of these is highly preferred!

Responsibilities:

  • Orchestrate large-scale SEM programs anchored in data and optimized with rigorous analytics
  • Prepare, onboard, and optimization a book of business across a variety of client categories
  • Audit areas of opportunity within our existing SEM accounts and execute against these opportunities to positively impact performance of the channel
  • Use current campaign performance to test new insights for growing profit and ROAS of our campaigns from variances in keywords/phrases, strategies, audiences, and spend levels
  • Delivering an exceptional customer experience through flawless operational execution
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop creative strategies and innovative solutions to accomplish high-stakes business goals across other channels while staying within cost constraints
  • Develop hypothesis based on data trends and design tests to unlock new areas of growth
  • Create business cases that support the opportunities for increased investment in the channel
  • Monitor campaign performance and provide regular reports to account management team, highlighting successes, segment gains/losses, and areas for improvement
  • Analyze and translate campaign performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for optimization and improvement to meet client goals
  • Oversee ongoing internal reporting and account trackers in order to provide ongoing details about campaign pacing, reporting metrics, account health, project timelines, etc.
  • Assist in sales opportunities to determine deficiencies or weaknesses in our clients’ current paid search setup, and make recommendations on how we can help
  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth, and work with internal teams to suggest new strategies and campaign optimizations that drive revenue and/or performance
  • Support strategic agency projects as needed (like onboarding a new platform, researching new products/partners, or setting up new offerings in our planning tools)
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices, sharing insights and knowledge internally
