Job Description
IKO is a global leader in manufacturing roofing products with production facilities worldwide, we are currently seeking Operators to join our team of skilled professionals based at our Ennis, Texas plant. This plant produces premium roofing shingles and in a high speed, continuous, asphalt shingle manufacturing process environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to safety policies, programs, procedures
  • Complete health & safety pre-start checklists
  • Operate manufacturing equipment in accordance with established operating procedures
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking as necessary.
  • Mix and prepare paint according to specified formulas and instructions.
  • Set up and adjust painting equipment to ensure proper application of coatings.
  • Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring a high-quality finish that meets company and customer standards.
  • Perform touch-ups or rework as necessary to correct any imperfections.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies related to hazardous materials and waste disposal.
  • Participate in safety training and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and operate control systems and equipment such as pumps, valves, and filters to treat wastewater.
  • Adjust chemical dosages and processing parameters to maintain optimal plant performance.
  • Conduct routine inspections of plant equipment and processes.
  • Collect and analyze samples to monitor water quality and treatment process efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of plant operations, maintenance activities, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports to local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Train and supervise junior operators and other staff as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry practices and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in heavy-industrial manufacturing, construction, or similar industry preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of counter-balance forklift operating experience (Recommended)
  • Comfortable with working in a dusty environment
  • Manual dexterity
  • Attention to detail
  • Fluent in verbal and written English

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
  • Comfortable with standing for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
