POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Pallet Manufacturing Technician, you play the most crucial role in the production process - it’s your responsibility to manufacture high-quality pallets, quickly and safely. You will work as a team with your fellow technicians and supervisors to maintain quality and safety in a fast-paced environment. This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor, and to the Dispatch Supervisor when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates with previous experience manufacturing pallets will be top priority
  • Candidates with previous lumber, warehouse, construction, carpentry, landscaping, roofing, welding or logistics experience are encouraged to apply
  • Must be comfortable working in a labor-intensive environment, sometimes under extreme weather conditions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical ability to pick-up, manipulate, and move pallets continuously throughout the shift.
  • Be able to pick pallets off the floor, place them on the repair table, and move the pallets to the “repairs completed” stack when finished.
  • Capability to use standard 28 – 32 oz hammer throughout shift.
  • Ability to use a pry bar.
  • Ability to stand/walk throughout shifts. Shift ranges from 8 hours depending on daily production requirements.
  • Ability to repetitively lift 45 - 75 pounds.
  • Ability to handle pneumatic nail guns continuously throughout the shift. • Nail guns range in weight from 5-7 pounds.
  • Must have a good sense of balance & good eye-hand-foot coordination
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Operate various machinery and tools to assemble, repair, and customize pallets according to customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Repair or build pallets to meet exact specifications.
  • Perform quality checks on pallets throughout the manufacturing process to make sure that they meet company and customer requirements.
  • Review your quality with Quality Supervisor when producing each pallet, every day.
  • Efficiently handle raw materials, including sorting, cutting, stacking, and storing lumber.
  • Maintain clean machinery and a clean work area to ensure a safe and organized environment.
  • Meet production goals
