QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
The ideal fit for this role requires the following combination of qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Graduate of a Paralegal diploma program or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Detail-oriented, meticulous, and proficient in critical thinking and problem-solving
- Knowledge of legal procedures, terminology, and case management
- Strong client service orientation and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Adaptable and flexible in a dynamic work environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and quick to learn new software
- Knowledge of Closing Folders and ProLaw is an asset
Responsibilities:
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As Paralegal your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to depending on practice:
- Conducting legal research, reviewing case materials, and drafting legal documents;
- Interviewing clients and witnesses, summarizing depositions, and organizing files;
- Managing multiple cases, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring deadlines are met;
- Applying knowledge of legal procedures and terminology to maintain accurate client files and support lawyers;
- Filing documentation with court systems and assisting in communication with lawyers, clients, and courts;
- Providing exceptional client service while handling sensitive information with discretion;
- Adapting to changing priorities in a dynamic legal environment; and,
- Supporting other team members as needed.
