QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

The ideal fit for this role requires the following combination of qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Graduate of a Paralegal diploma program or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Detail-oriented, meticulous, and proficient in critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Knowledge of legal procedures, terminology, and case management
  • Strong client service orientation and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Adaptable and flexible in a dynamic work environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and quick to learn new software
  • Knowledge of Closing Folders and ProLaw is an asset

Responsibilities:

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Paralegal your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to depending on practice:

  • Conducting legal research, reviewing case materials, and drafting legal documents;
  • Interviewing clients and witnesses, summarizing depositions, and organizing files;
  • Managing multiple cases, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring deadlines are met;
  • Applying knowledge of legal procedures and terminology to maintain accurate client files and support lawyers;
  • Filing documentation with court systems and assisting in communication with lawyers, clients, and courts;
  • Providing exceptional client service while handling sensitive information with discretion;
  • Adapting to changing priorities in a dynamic legal environment; and,
  • Supporting other team members as needed.
