We are seeking a Paralegal to join the Incorporated Legal Practice Avant Law Limited in our Canberra, ACT team in a permanent, part-time capacity. This role will see you working 22.5 hours per week, over 3 or 4 days per week. This role provides quality administrative and legal support to Avant Law Solicitors and will see you interact regularly with our Solicitors, Claims Managers, Medical Advisors, witnesses, experts, courts and tribunals, to support Avant Law in delivering a comprehensive and superior service to Avant’s members.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting Solicitors in the management of a legal practice and contribute to the effective functioning of the Legal team.
  • Provide an administrative support function to Avant Law including assisting to prepare legal documentation including briefs, drafting correspondence, court filing, liaising with witnesses, experts, court and/or tribunal staff and assisting with processing of Avant Law’s invoices for professional services.
  • Coordinating meetings and travel arrangements.
  • Processing accounts payable invoices, monthly billings and MasterCard reconciliations.
  • Assisting with general office administration.
