Description:

SUMMARY

Under direction from the department attorneys, this position is responsible for researching legal issues, investigating facts, and preparing documents.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 - 3 years relevant experience required; contract drafting experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, patience, professionalism, and ability to effectively interact with staff and management.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares legal documents for review, approval, and use by department attorneys and internal clients and CRF clients.
  • Works with department attorneys to draft and proofread contracts, create template agreements.
  • Enter into, track, and follow-up on contract negotiations.
  • Research and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, treatises, etc.
  • Assist with the large volume of contract work associated with clinical research trials.
  • Prepares and maintains document files.
  • Files correspondence and legal documents in office filing system.
  • Ensures proper indexing and filing of original legal documents.
  • Participates in a wide variety of special projects and compiles a variety of special reports.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
