Description:

Drewlo Holdings is seeking a Paralegal to join our team. We are a family owned and operated company that has been constructing and operating rental apartment towers across Southwestern Ontario for over 65 years. We are proud to be proving homes to thousands and careers for many.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must hold a P1 Paralegal license in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
  • Minimum 5 years experience of dealing with Landlord and Tenant matters
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Able to meet deadlines, work well under pressure and take initiative using sound judgment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills
  • Professionalism demonstrated with colleagues, clients both in person and conversing by phone
  • Strong grammatical skills, including punctuation and proofreading, attention to detail and accuracy are a must
  • Demonstrated commitment to privacy and ethical conduct

Responsibilities:

  • knowledge of Small Claims Court proceedings and enforcement such as garnishments examinations, etc.
  • In depth knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act and the Landlord and Tenant Board proceedings
  • Collection of outstanding accounts including preparing legal applications such as L1, L2, L10 applications etc.
  • Manage escalated legal cases from start to finish
  • Communicating with past and current tenants to discuss repayment of outstanding accounts
  • Deal with highly confidential information in a secure environment
  • Other duties as assigned
