QUALIFICATIONS

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and a degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field is required
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in handling small claims court matters.
  • Prior legal experience and familiarity with legal terminology and procedures will be advantageous
  • Ability to manage tasks effectively, prioritize deadlines, and maintain organized systems for managing case-related documents and information.
  • Keen eye for accuracy in document preparation, legal research, and maintaining case files, ensuring work meets legal standards and requirements.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to assist in drafting legal documents, correspond with clients, and relay information to key individuals
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adjust to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Committed to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion, adhering to ethical standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Legal Research: Conduct in-depth analysis of legal issues, case law, statutes, and regulations, delivering essential insights to support in developing strategic legal approaches and case preparations.
  • Document Preparation: Take an active role in drafting, formatting, and meticulously proofreading a range of legal document, such as complaints, motions, discovery requests, and contracts ensuring they meet the highest standards of accuracy, clarity, and compliance.
  • Case Management: Oversee the organization and maintenance of both physical and electronic case files, ensuring documents are filed efficiently and in strict adherence to legal protocols and organizational standards.
  • Legal Filings: Manage the preparation and submission of legal documents, ensuring all filings are timely, accurate, and comply with local rules and regulations.
  • Discovery Support: Play a key role in the discovery process by organizing and managing documents for production, drafting responses, and ensuring the seamless coordination of depositions to facilitate smooth case progression.
  • Administrative Support: Ensure smooth operations by managing and coordinating meetings and depositions, and handling all routine correspondence, including emails, phone calls, and faxes.
  • General Office Support: Provide essential administrative support, including scanning, copying, filing, and data entry, while maintaining an efficient, organized, and professional office environment that enhances the overall legal process.
  • Document Management: Implement and maintain an effective system for organizing case-related documents, ensuring quick retrieval and secure storage, while consistently updating electronic records.
  • Client Interaction: Respond to client inquiries, collect necessary information, and provide status updates on cases when directed by attorneys—helping ensure smooth and transparent communication.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Help ensure that legal practices, filings, and procedures follow all applicable rules, regulations, and ethical guidelines, minimizing the risk of compliance issues.
