Paralegal - Estate Litigation and Personal Injury: in Person or Remote

OVERVIEW

Our law firm, located in the Okanagan, is seeking a remote or in-person Paralegal to practice in the fields of Estate Litigation and Personal Injury law. This is a full-time position.

REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of 3 years’ full time experience as a paralegal. More experience is preferred;
• A certificate/diploma/degree in paralegal studies;
• Experience in both estate litigation and personal injury litigation is required;
• You truly enjoy working with clients. You have a passion for helping those who have been injured whether in an estate or personal injury situation;
• Confidence to run files independently;
• Knowledge of the Rules of Court and and case law as it applies to both fields;
• Ability to conduct legal research and identify relevant cases (this is a mandatory requirement of this position);
• Ability to draft documents such as Notice of Civil Claim (in a variety of unique factual and legal situations), List of Documents, and Mediation Summaries and Settlement Proposals;
• Strong written communication skills with accurate spelling and grammar in drafting legal documents and correspondence
