Description:

This position will provide paralegal support and assistance to the VP, Assistant General Counsel in Europe as well as to generally support the Global Legal Team by performing various paralegal and administrative functions. The role will include:-

  • supporting on the closing of complex commercial, real estate acquisitions and sales transactions, real estate development and construction, and various other business law practice matters;
  • preparing loan abstracts, lease abstracts, closing checklists and transaction documents;
  • coordinating with internal and external parties;
  • review of due diligence; and
  • preparing and maintaining files and closing binders.

Strong organizational and project management skills are required.
Essential Functions:
o Organization of files for the purchase, sale and mortgage loan financing of real property and preparation of closing binders, lease abstracts, and/or loan abstracts;
o Assist in the drafting and tracking legal documents pertaining to transactions;
o Performing pre-closing, closing, and follow-up duties by contacting and communicating with title companies, consultants, government agencies, etc;
o Maintain real estate master file form documents in an orderly and organized manner;
o Legal research and related analysis of real estate and business transactions of a complexity ranging from basic to moderate;
o Knowledge pertaining to all stages of corporate transactions, including the preparation of documents necessary to comply with law ;
o Assist in the preparation of documentation for formation, amendments, withdrawals, mergers, and dissolution of corporations, partnerships, and/or limited liability companies;

o Prepare for and close various corporate transactions;

  • Ensuring that the signature process on business contracts is run efficiently and effectively;

o Assist with filings, document revisions, correspondence, and other clerical functions to improve the efficiency and performance of the department;
o Coordinate transaction execution and troubleshooting with multiple internal and external stakeholders;
o Assisting with ethics and compliance programs.
Minimum Requirements:
o Minimum of 5 years commercial real estate and corporate paralegal and legal assistant work experience.
o Degree preferred.
o International real estate or transaction experience a plus
o Corporate secretary and governance support a plus
Experience Skills:
o Strong organizational and clerical skills including attention to detail and accuracy.
o Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software programs, including Word and Excel. Familiarity with MS Project a plus
o Ability to read and interpret legal and title transaction documents.
o Ability to communicate effectively by writing and verbally internally with CyrusOne team members and externally with stakeholders, including outside counsel, consultants, governmental agencies.
o Effective organizational skills, able to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
o Strong oral and written skills, able to interpret and present information to management.
o Self-motivated, takes initiative to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
o Applies strong attention to detail.
