Description:

Evans & Dixon is currently seeking to add a Paralegal to our expanding & fast paced Springfield office. This position will require someone who is comfortable with multi-tasking and can autonomously handle a large volume of files along with meeting strict deadlines. Successful candidates should be teachable and have excellent analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Four year college certificate or degree preferred, but not required
  • 1-5+ years of experience working in the legal field

Responsibilities:

As a Paralegal, you will have the opportunity to provide excellent legal support to your team of attorneys, legal staff, and clients.

  • Case Maintenance: Keep cases organized by establishing and organizing files, monitoring calendars, tracking deadlines, inputting information into file database and case management software, confirming case status with attorney.
  • Scheduling: Maintain attorney’s calendars, including recording and monitoring court appearance dates, depositions, pleading deadlines, discovery deadlines.
  • Legal Work: Summarize cases and medical records. Draft legal documents, including pleadings, discovery documents, interrogatories and discovery responses.
  • Trial Prep: Assist with trial preparation including witness lists, exhibits and trial binders.
