THE OPPORTUNITY

We are excited to hire our first Paralegal that will support our General Counsel. This role requires you to be local to the SF Bay Area and willing to meet in person to support our General Counsel. We are looking for an individual who has the ability to create and drive a project from start to finish. The ideal candidate is analytically-minded, fast-paced, and detail-oriented that is excited to operationalize and streamline the business process and coordination of the General Counsel and Legal Team.

  • Assist in preparing, revising, redlining and proofreading various corporate documents including transactional matters, compliance, closing documents, audit letters, contracts, agreements, etc.
  • Assist with assembly of pre-closing documents and sets of executed documents for various signatures, and amendments.
  • Conduct research to support various legal projects/proceedings that the General Counsel and Legal Team are working on
  • Working knowledge of filing procedures, requirements and e-filing with Secretary of State office, in addition to federal, state and local courts and agencies, and working with Company’s third party vendor(s) to manage all company filings
  • Assist in scheduling appointments and travel, including meetings and court dates for General Counsel and various legal team members, particularly with respect to any trial/hearing date(s).
  • Mail: Reviews, prioritizes, and routes all general mail incoming to the Legal Team. Prepares outgoing mail and overnight packages utilizing Flock’s UPS account.
  • Monitor deadlines with respect to the numerous subpoena requests/required filings received and work with the General Counsel to ensure deadlines are entered and met.

THE SKILLSET

  • 5+ years of Paralegal or Legal Assistant experience
  • An exceptional ability to build strong relationships with many types of people in a variety of roles, especially executive leadership
  • Outstanding ability to proactively solve problems and prioritize time and tasks
  • Are trustworthy, reliable, and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Past experience being a strategic thought partner to executives
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Notary preferred
  • College Degree or Equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • Expert proficiency with the MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) applications.
  • Exceptional organizational skills that reflect ability to seamlessly perform and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail.
