Description:
Our legal practice is seeking to hire a paralegal/ legal executive to join our team to manage some of our client matters. You will be supporting our civil litigation practice and family law practice in particular. As a result you must be familiar with legal research, the new civil procedures and e-litigation filing processes. You are expected to know the litigation process and the court forms that are usually administered to each step of the process. The firm will expect you to be able to communicate and manage your time and work load, and you will be given the opportunity to learn and grow at the same time. You will also be expected to attend hearing and case conferences with the lawyer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and prepare legal documents.
- Manage and administer court forms and filings in compliance with civil procedures.
- Assist in the preparation for hearings, case conferences, and trials.
- Coordinate effectively between lawyers and clients, ensuring clear communication.
- Maintain organized case files and manage timelines to meet deadlines.
- Attend hearings and case conferences alongside lawyers.
Requirements:
- A law degree and completion of the bar course.
- Strong understanding of Civil Procedure, State Court, and Supreme Court processes, particularly in Family Law and Probate Practice.
- Ability to work independently, manage workloads, and thrive in a self-managed environment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of tasks.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in e-litigation and Microsoft Office tools.
